Alaska Ski for Women

What better way to start off Super Bowl Sunday than with….

I have NEVER been on cross-country ski’s before in my life, so I wasn’t sure how today was going to go. It was such a great time, I did not fall on my face and I realized, I prefer classic skiing much more than downhill.

The trails were fantastic (to me anyway), the temperature was perfect~ but that didn’t stop me from being overdressed, so many women and little girls, amazing costumes and an overall fun time. I attended the event with my neighbor and she kicked my butt!  I look forward to my next cross country skiing adventure.  I will certainly be taking my girls out on the skis, once I know they can handle it!

The Ski for Women is the first event of the year that will qualify you for the Triple Finisher Patch here in Alaska.  I did not do this event last year, but I am on a roll to do all 4 events this year!

I do not own any skis, of any kind, so I had to capture a photo of my rentals!
